By scheduling or receiving notary services from Noir Signage & Co., you agree to the following terms and conditions in accordance with Massachusetts law.

 

1. Scope of Services

 Noir Signage & Co. provides notarial services in compliance with Massachusetts General Laws, including:

  • Administering oaths and affirmations

  • Witnessing signatures

  • Taking acknowledgments

  • Certifying copies (when permitted by law)

  • Mobile notary services (as requested)

The Notary is not a licensed attorney and may not provide legal advice or accept fees for legal advice.

 

2. Client Responsibilities

Clients are responsible for:

  • Bringing a valid, government-issued photo ID

  • Ensuring all documents are complete and ready for notarization (not blank or partially filled out)

  • Signing documents in the Notary’s presence (unless otherwise permitted by law, e.g., acknowledgments)

  • Communicating in English, unless prior arrangements are made

 

3. Fees and Payment

All notarial fees are determined on a case-by-case basis, depending on:

  • Number/type of documents

  • Travel distance

  • Time of day or urgency

Fees will be disclosed and agreed upon before services are rendered. Payment is due at the time of service unless otherwise arranged.

 

4. Mobile Notary & Travel Policy

Mobile services may include an additional travel or convenience fee, which varies based on location and appointment time. Cancellations with less than 24 hours' notice may be subject to a cancellation fee.

 

5. Right to Refuse Service

The Notary may refuse to perform notarization if:

  • The signer cannot be properly identified

  • The signer is not present

  • The document is incomplete or suspicious

  • There are signs of coercion, confusion, or incapacity

  • The Notary believes the act would be unlawful or unethical

 

6. Limitation of Liability

Noir Signage & Co. is not responsible for the legal validity or content of documents. The Notary’s role is limited to witnessing signatures and verifying identity. Under no circumstances shall Noir Signage & Co. be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages related to the notarization.

 

7. Privacy and Confidentiality

All personal and document information provided during notarization will be handled with confidentiality and used solely for notarial purposes.

 

8. Changes to Terms

These terms may be updated periodically to reflect changes in law or business practices. The most recent version will always be available on our website or by request.

 

9. Governing Law

These Terms and Conditions shall be governed by the laws of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.
